Chiristmas in July!

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos
(Torme & Wells, 1946)

No, not usually. Unless, of course, they refer to the Etsy Down Under Street Team (DUST) “Aussie Christmas in July” promotional weekend.

Etsy DUST members from all around Australia are coming together for one whole weekend, 12.01AM Saturday 25th July through to 11.59PM Sunday 26th July (AEST), to showcase their talents & stunningly handmade creations.

The DUST team will also be running giveaways for the entirety of the weekend, giving you the opportunity to win some fabulous prizes from Australian sellers. Poke your nose into the Etsy Forums during the promotion for your chance to win.

Are you looking for some Japanese fabric?

I am a fabric addict person, when I sew something special, cute, unique, lovely, gorgeous, colorful fabric, I just buy it and keep it in my room.
BUT, I realized that I have no idea in what to use it on, so I decided to resell it to someone who might use it in a better way than me :)

All fabric is Japanese and using for kimono.Find your favorite fabric and enjoy!

Tanabata (July 7th)- Japanese annual event

Tanabata (July 7th)

Tanabata is a star festival that occurs on July 7th.
It's based on the Chinese legend in which Altair and Vegan who are split apart on opposite side of the Milky way, are allowed to meet once a year on this night by the Emperor of the universe. So tonight is a very romantic day!

In old days, people prayed to become clever with their hands on this day. This custom remains today, but we are praying some other things. When I was a little girl I wished "become a millionaire" well still not! lol
Anyway, people write their wishes on strips of paper and hang them on branches of bamboo tree with other paper decorations.

Etsy item of the day blog feautred!

One day when I was on twitter I found her. Her twitter name is EtsyToday.
And I checked her and I found it's very exciting blog!
She featured an etsy seller everyday!! What a great work.
So I send mail for asked her to take a look my shop.
Next day..... Yes, I got it!!!!!!!
She piked my kimono blank card.
This card comes with three different types Japanese paper called Chiyogami.
You can use this Chiyogami for your scrapbooking or some crafts.
So this card is a card and it becomes a gift, too!
I glued on these Chiyogami but it cuts easily according to the tear off along dotted line.
